Sara Zavala, age 86, late of the East Side and formerly of “The Bush” passed away on October 1, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Trinidad for 51 years. Loving daughter of late Alejo and late Pilar Mendoza. Devoted sister of late Anita (late Oscar) Flores, late Rebecca (late Genaro) Diaz, late Joshua (Minerva) Fonseca, Esther (late Alfredo) Carvajal, Nadia (late Luis) Caceres, Elsa (late Issac) Alcala, and Olivia (Robert) Garcia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, cousins and dear friends. Sara leaves behind her caregiver and niece Alexandra (Raul) Corona.

Visitation Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 9:45 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
