Passed away on August 27, 2026

Judith A. “Judy” Thompson, age 85, late of Dyer, Indiana, formerly of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald N. Thompson.

Judy was the loving mother of Donna (Robert) Jones and Jennifer (the late Robert) Klein; cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Dominic) Borsato, Benjamin (Danielle Gouwens) Jones, Mattie (Avery) Childress, and Makayla Klein; and dearest great-grandmother of Riley Borsato, Colin Borsato, Greyson Jones, and Brooks Jones. She was the dear sister of the late Benita Jennings and Frances Brown Taylor, and fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Judy was a longtime realtor who took great pride in helping others and building lasting relationships throughout the years. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Whenever her children told her, “I love you,” Judy would always respond, “I love you more”—a simple, heartfelt expression that reflected the depth of her love for them.

Known for her wonderful sense of humor, Judy loved to laugh and had a special ability to bring joy and lightheartedness to those around her. She was warm, positive, caring, and fiercely devoted to the people she loved. Her family will always remember her as a woman who made them feel loved, supported, and important.

Judy’s desire to live was especially evident over the last several years, as she often bounced back from the health challenges she faced. Her strength, determination, and positive spirit were an inspiration to those who loved her.

Judy was a beautiful example of what it means to love and care for your family. She gave generously of herself, always wanting the best for those she loved, and her influence will continue through the generations of her family. Her love, laughter, strength, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation Monday, August 31, 2026 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th LN.) St. John.
