Bridget A. Griffin, age 63. Late of Dyer, IN., formerly of Chicago, IL. passed away on August 21, 2026. Beloved wife of Joseph Griffin for 31 years. Loving mother of Sean Griffin. Cherished sister of Kathleen (George) Momcilovic, Thomas (Laura) Brooks, Colleen (Jose) Montanez, Anna (Dave) Furtek, and Jennifer (Matthew) Prinz. Devoted sister-in-law of Richard (Marianne) Griffin and Mary (Glenn) Ruppert. Fond aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Barbara Brooks.

Bridget was truly a very special person.  Everyone that knew her loved her.  She had that effect on people, as she was selfless and was willing to lend a hand or help out anyone that needed it.  Bridget was fun-loving and outgoing and would light up a room when she came in with her infectious smile.

Bridget was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and soaking in the sun by the pool.

When Bridget was diagnosed with cancer, it didn’t change her.  She was still the same Bridget.  The will and strength she displayed while fighting her disease was extraordinary.  Bridget fought her best, more so for her family than for herself.  She knew we would be lost without her – she was right.

Bridget was, most of all, a loving wife and mom and will forever be loved and missed by all of her family and friends.  This world was a better place with Bridget in it.  She was an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven.

Visitation Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Friday, August 28, 2026 with prayers at 9:30 am at Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln.
