Judith M. “Judy” Swetlik, age 85.  Late of Schererville, Indiana formerly of Hegewisch.  Passed away August 12, 2026.  Beloved wife of the late James J. Swetlik Sr.  Loving mother of Lorri (Dan) Miskus, James (Susan) Swetlik Jr., Cheryl Swetlik, and Julie (Warren) Fischer.  Cherished grandmother of Zachary (Gina) Swetlik, Marisha (Arthur) Sandaker, Alexandria (Justin) Harvey, Caitlin (Trevor) Kirsh, Ryan Fischer, and Molly Fischer.  Dearest great grandmother of Charlie, Arthur Jr., Lucy, Claire. Dear sister of Paul (Judy) Swetlik.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by parents Albin and Mary Nemcek and brother Albin (Loretta) Nemcek. 

Judy was a devoted Chicago Public School employee for over 30 years with a majority of her career spent at John L. Marsh Elementary School. 

Memorial Visitation Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 9:30 until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. John the Evangelist Church – Day Chapel 11301 W. 93rd Ave. (Corner of 93rd and 41). Private inurnment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a donation for a Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Judy’s name preferred..  For more information 219-365-3474.
