Barbara A. Ryan, age 82, late of St. John, IN., formerly of Calumet City, IL., passed away August 6, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Michael, for 58 years. Loving mother of Debra (Daniel) Wladyka, Sue (Darryl) Pena and Jennifer (Anthony) Martin. Devoted grandmother of Kevin (Desiree) Wladyka, Ashleigh Wladyka, Jeff (Chelsea) Hartman, Brandon Hartman, Dante Pena, Lucas Pena, Melissa Martin and Anthony Martin, Jr.. Dearest sister of Marcia (John) Cipich, Dennis (Barbara) Kowalski, and the late Thomas Kowalski.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Jessie Kowalski (neé Macudzinski).

Barbara was all about family. She enjoyed being around everyone, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies and playing games with her friends. Barbara loved being able to go out to eat and going to the casino.

Visitation Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm.  Funeral Services Friday, August 14, 2026 at 9:30 am from the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th LN.)
