With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Socorro Cruz López, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend. Surrounded by the love of her family and strengthened by her unwavering faith, Socorro entered eternal rest on May 29, 2026.
Born in Agua de Obispo, Jalisco on February 21, 1953, Socorro’s life was a testament to courage, devotion, services, and love. In the 1970s, she immigrated to the United States, where she and her husband built a life rooted in hard work, sacrifice, faith, and family.
Coco was the devoted wife of Manuel Cruz for 57 years and the loving mother of Eduardo, Araceli, Lourdes, and Janet. She was a proud and cherished grandmother, a devoted sister, aunt, godmother, and friend whose warmth touched countless lives.
Known for her calm spirit, wisdom, kindness, and grace, Coco moved through life with quiet strength and deep compassion. She was a woman of profound Catholic faith and her faith was not merely something she practiced—it guided every aspect of her life. She taught her family to love God, to serve others, and to find meaning and hope even in difficult times.
Coco believed deeply in the goodness of people and was known for extending mercy, encouragement, and guidance to all who crossed her path. Her nurturing spirit made her a beloved godmother and trusted mentor to many.
Family was at the center of everything she did. She maintained a welcoming home where relatives, friends, and neighbors always found a seat at the table. She shared a special devotion with each member of her family, especially her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren, and cared for those she loved with extraordinary tenderness and dedication.
An exceptional chef, baker, and fashionista, Coco expressed her love through her generosity. Her kitchen was the heart of countless family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, backyard carne asadas, and celebrations. Family and friends will forever remember her delicious homemade meals, fresh baked goods, and the care she put into every dish she prepared. For Coco, feeding others was an act of love.
She also carried a deep love of music, inherited from her father, Víctor. She enjoyed singing, especially alongside her husband, and treasured the joy that music brought to family life. She loved fashion, shopping with her daughters, nieces, and friends, and was known for her impeccable style and thoughtful gift-giving.
As the youngest of eight children, Socorro remained deeply devoted to her siblings and extended family throughout her life. She cherished the values instilled by her parents, Victor and Guadalupe, and passed those blessings on to future generations.
Throughout her journey, she was sustained by the love of family, friends, and a community she had spent decades building through kindness and service.
Coco leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, generosity, hospitality, and unwavering devotion to family. She taught those who knew her how to live with grace, how to serve others, and how to find joy in everyday moments.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, godchildren, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her presence.
Thank you for teaching us how to love, how to be patient, and how to laugh. Your legacy will live through us forever.

Con profunda tristeza y profunda gratitud por una vida bellamente vivida, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Socorro Cruz López, amada esposa, madre, abuela, hermana, tía, madrina y amiga. Rodeada del amor de su familia y fortalecida por su fe inquebrantable, Socorro partió al descanso eterno el 29 de mayo de 2026.
Nacida en Agua de Obispo, Jalisco, el 21 de febrero de 1953, la vida de Socorro fue un testimonio de valentía, entrega, servicio y amor. En la década de los setenta emigró a los Estados Unidos, donde junto a su esposo construyó una vida basada en el trabajo arduo, el sacrificio, la fe y la familia.
Coco fue la devota esposa de Manuel Cruz durante 57 años y la amorosa madre de Eduardo, Araceli, Lourdes y Janet. Fue una abuela orgullosa y entrañable, una hermana, tía, madrina y amiga dedicada, cuya calidez humana tocó la vida de innumerables personas.
Conocida por su espíritu sereno, sabiduría, bondad y elegancia, Coco recorrió la vida con una fortaleza silenciosa y una profunda compasión. Fue una mujer de profunda fe católica, y su fe no era simplemente algo que practicaba; guiaba cada aspecto de su vida. Enseñó a su familia a amar a Dios, a servir a los demás y a encontrar sentido y esperanza aun en los momentos más difíciles.
Coco creía profundamente en la bondad de las personas y era conocida por brindar misericordia, ánimo y orientación a todos aquellos que se cruzaban en su camino. Su espíritu protector y generoso la convirtió en una madrina muy querida y en una guía de confianza para muchos.
La familia fue el centro de todo lo que hacía. Mantuvo siempre un hogar acogedor donde familiares, amigos y vecinos encontraban un lugar en la mesa. Compartía un vínculo especial con cada miembro de su familia, especialmente con su amado esposo, sus hijos y sus nietos, y cuidaba de quienes amaba con una ternura y dedicación extraordinarias.
Excelente cocinera, repostera y fashionista, Coco expresaba su amor a través de su generosidad. Su cocina fue el corazón de innumerables reuniones familiares, días festivos, cumpleaños, carne asadas en el patio y celebraciones. Familiares y amigos recordarán para siempre sus deliciosas comidas caseras, sus panes y postres recién horneados, y el cariño que ponía en cada platillo que preparaba. Para Coco, alimentar a los demás era un acto de amor.
También llevaba en el corazón un profundo amor por la música, heredado de su padre, Víctor. Disfrutaba cantar, especialmente junto a su esposo, y atesoraba la alegría que la música aportaba a la vida familiar. Le encantaba la moda, salir de compras con sus hijas, sobrinas y amigas, y era conocida por su impecable estilo y por los regalos tan considerados que ofrecía a quienes amaba.
Como la menor de ocho hermanos, Socorro permaneció profundamente unida a sus hermanos y a su extensa familia durante toda su vida. Valoró siempre las enseñanzas y principios que le inculcaron sus padres, Víctor y Guadalupe, y transmitió esas bendiciones a las generaciones futuras.
A lo largo de su camino, fue sostenida por el amor de su familia, sus amistades y una comunidad que había construido durante décadas a través de la bondad y el servicio.
Coco deja un legado de fe, amor, generosidad, hospitalidad y una inquebrantable devoción por la familia. Enseñó a quienes la conocieron a vivir con gracia, a servir a los demás y a encontrar alegría en los momentos cotidianos.
Será profundamente extrañada y recordada para siempre por su esposo, hijos, nietos, hermanos, familia extendida, ahijados, amigos y por todos aquellos cuyas vidas fueron bendecidas por su presencia.
Gracias por enseñarnos a amar, a ser pacientes y a reír. Tu legado vivirá en nosotros para siempre.
