"Mrs. Salazar was so much more than a friend's parent to me; she truly felt like a second mother. I will never forget the way she took care of us, especially those early mornings before our Army drill weekends when she’d have a hot bowl of menudo waiting for us. That breakfast was more than just a meal—it was her way of making sure we felt loved and fueled before we headed out. She had a heart big enough to claim us all as her own, and we will miss her deeply."
