Raymond C. Migler “Ray” age 94, late of Munster, formerly of the East Side of Chicago, passed away April 20, 2026. Beloved husband of Joan and the late Patricia. Loving father of Mary Ellen Oliver, Patty Migler, late Sarah Gomez and the late Raymond Migler. Dearest stepfather of Susan Hayes, Sandra Price, Linda Carlson and Laura (Paul) Anderson. Devoted grandfather of 11, cherished great grandfather of 15. Dearest brother of Bob (Toni) Migler, Jim (Lori) Migler, Dorothy (Joe) Grezlak, Don (late Marge) Migler, late Ceil (late Stan) Tomaszewski, late Lee (Therese) Migler, late Ron (late Helen) Migler and late Al (late Helen) Migler. Fond uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Veteran of U.S. Army. Retired employee of Conrail Railroad.

Ray had a simple way of looking at life and the people in it. He often said there was "nothing funnier than people," and found joy in the everyday moments most might overlook. He was a man who appreciated the basics -- a good cup of black coffee, a cinnamon sugar donut, and a story worth telling. Ray took great pride in his years managing a railroad crew, where his steady leadership and work ethic earned the respect of those alongside him. In retirement, he and Joan embraced adventure, traveling the country with his brother and sister-in-law, making memories one mile at a time, often spending each night in a new town across America. Ray believed that staying busy was key to a long life. He was always there with his tools to lend a helping hand to family members who had something to repair or replace. He even helped build a fence at the young age of 83! Those who knew Ray will remember a man grounded in hard work, quiet humor, and a life well lived on his own terms.

Visitation Friday, April 24, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. with the Funeral Service Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 W. 97^th Lane, St. John, IN. with Rev. Gregory Bim-Merle officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  For more information 219-365-3474.
