Victor C. Cabrales Sr., age 73. Late of the East Side, formerly of Durango, Mexico. Passed away on April 17, 2026. Beloved husband of Josefina Cabrales for 51 years. Loving father “Pops” of Victor (Claudia) Cabrales Jr., Claudia Elena Cabrales, Mayra (Andy) Klootwyk, Ambar (Alberto) Cantu, and Grissel (Luis) Burgos. Cherished grandfather “Lito” of Alberto, Uriel, Josue, Camila, Pablo, Andrea, Luis, Elias, Marcos, Lucy, Julian, and great-grandfather of Nicholas. Dearest brother of Emiterio, Saul, Leticia, Pascual, Marta, Jorge (late).

Preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Elena Cabrales. Victor retired as a steel worker and truck driver. He was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed tending to his garden and spending time in the outdoors.His greatest joy were his grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Tuesday, April 21, 2026, closing prayers at 10:30 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. 60617 to Our Lady of Nazareth Church (formerly Annunciata Church) for Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
