Rose Marie Rodish

Passed away on March 30, 2026

Rose Marie Rodish, proudly from “the Bush” and a true East Sider through and through, was loud, honest, funny, and completely unapologetic. She kept life interesting, kept people laughing, and made sure no one ever had to wonder where they stood with her.

She was married to her husband , Gerald Rodish for 49 years and together they raised three sons who were her world: Jerold, John, and Joseph. Through her son John and his wife Renee, Rosie became a proud grandmother to Johnee Elle (Austin), Joseph (Jessica), and James. Her greatest joy was her growing family. She adored her great-grandchildren—Lorelai and Zoey (Johnee Elle and Austin), and Joseph and Jane (Joseph and Jessica) she loved watching her family continue to grow, always finding new reasons to celebrate them. She was also a proud aunt and great-aunt, loving her extended family and friends just as fiercely.

She shared a special bond with her sister, Mary Ann Skubisz, her partner in fun, as part of the “Twisted Sisters.” Together, they could often be found blasting Proud Mary, singing and yelling along louder than the music itself.

Rosie didn’t need much of a reason, she loved any excuse to gather, laugh, and make a moment feel special. She was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, a lover of all things sports, and could turn even an ordinary day into something worth celebrating.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her bold spirit, her laughter, and the joy she brought to every room. In her honor, turn the music up a little louder, say what you’re thinking, and never pass up a reason to celebrate.

"Rosie, you always lit up every room you walked into. Your laughter was contagious, and every time I was around you, I felt comfort and joy. You brought so much light and happiness to everyone lucky enough to know you. You were more than a friend to my mom and us girls, you were like family to us, and you always will be. You will be forever missed and forever loved. I find comfort knowing you’re reunited with Jerry, and that somewhere you’re both together again laughing, celebrating, and probably throwing a party just like you always did. May eternal light shine upon you, and may it bring comfort to all who love you."
