Maria D. Lopez, known affectionately as “Loli” passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026 at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Loli’s radiant smile and caring nature will be deeply missed.

Born on February 2, 1940 in East Chicago, Indiana. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose life was defined by unconditional love, laughter, and an unparalleled capacity to make everyone feel special. Loli was a shining light to all who knew her and her warmth and generous spirit.

Beloved mother of Nadine Huerta (late Antonio Guardado) and Monica (Joe) Chico. Cherished grandmother of Brianna (Adrian) Marquez, and David R. Sacramento Jr. Adored great- grandmother of Mateo, Melia, and Apollo Marquez. Loli will now join her 8 siblings in Heaven.

Treasured and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Josephine Mariscal: and husbands, Raymundo Huerta and Leo Lopez. Maria retired from Chicago Board of Trade after 26 years working as a Market Reporter, where she made life-long friends that became a second family.

Funeral Services Monday, March 30, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located at 3200 E. 91st Street, Chicago, IL and for Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 801 Michigan City Road, Calumet City IL.
