John C. Govert, age 78. Late of Monticello, In. Passed away on March 22, 2026.Beloved husband of Hilda Govert for 56 years. Loving father of Jackie Carroll and Joanna (Jeff) Ferguson. Cherished grandfather of Kylie Carroll, Bailee Carroll , J.R. Ferguson, Wes Ferguson, and Doug Ferguson. Adored great-grandfather of Cameron and Anna Ferguson. Dearest brother of Richard Govert, Debbie Drapac, Barbara Hatch, and Mary Rhone. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Irene Govert, and siblings; Charles, William, and Thomas Govert.

John was a veteran of U.S. Army. Retired operating engineer from Local 150. John had a passion for working on old cars, being in his barn and avid Green Bay Packers fan. His biggest passion and dedication were to his grandchildren and his dog Benji.

Visitation and Funeral Services will take place Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Service at 5:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. St. John. IN. 46373.
