Nicolas Gomez, age 90. Late of South Chicago. Passed away on March 21, 2026. Beloved husband of Maria Gomez (nee Luna) for 70 years. Loving father of Juan Gomez, L. Maria Guadalupe (Hilario) Leal, Jose Manuel (Maria Esther) Gomez, Armando Gomez, Margarita (Donaldo) Lamas, Obdulia (J. Guadalupe) Aranda, Roberto Gomez, Alicia (Edgar) Apolinar, Gabriel (Jackie) Gomez, Angelica (Mario) Escobedo, and Nicolas (Amy) Gomez. Devoted grandfather and great-grandfather of many. Dearest brother of Maria De La Luz Gomez, Rosario Gomez, and Maria De Jesus Mijares. Retired employee of Busch Casting Co.  

Nicolas Gomez, a deeply devoted husband, loving father, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.   

For more than 70 years, he shared a deep and enduring love with his beloved wife, Maria Gomez - a bond built on faith, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. Together, they created a life rich in love, laughter, and compassion.  He was a proud father of eleven children, who dedicated countless hours to being present in their lives guiding, teaching, and cherishing each moment. His greatest joy was his family, and that love only grew as he welcomed over thirty grandchildren and great grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. 

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a faithful servant of God, he lived with humility, kindness, and a deep sense of purpose, leaving a lasting example for all who knew him.  Nicolas Gomez will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to his family, his loving wife, and his quiet strength and faith.  

He will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL. Funeral Services Saturday, March 28, 2026  DIRECTLY at Immaculate Conception Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum.
