Wayne William Verschoore, age 89. Late of Lowell, Indiana, passed away on March 15, 2026. He was currently a resident of Cedar Creek Health Campus. Wayne grow up on the southside of Chicago, later moving to Riverdale, Illinois and in 2000 moved to Lowell. Beloved son of the late Elmer E. and Grace M. Verschoore (nee Bugner). Loving brother of late Wilma J. (late Joe) Huegel, June D. Stinson, and Barbara A. (late Leslie J.) Lis. Dearest Uncle of the late Kathy Stout, Rich Alexander, late Susan Paginer, June Stinson, Wendy (Lukw) Cole , and Leslie C. (Pilar) Lis. Great Uncle to many more nieces and nephews.

Wayne retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years, where he worked in the Old Chicago Main Post Office in Downtown Chicago. He especially loved taking the train every day to work. He loved trains of all kinds. His favorites were especially the old steam engines. He could explain to you everything about each one of them in detail. He also had an amazing model railroad train collection that he loved and cherished.

Visitation and Memorial Service will be held for the family on Sunday, March 22, 2026, 3:00-4:30pm  with a prayer service at 4:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Chapel and Crematory - 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way, Cedar Lake, Indiana 46303.
