Kathryn J. Donohoe “Katie” passed away on March 11, 2026, after a brief illness.
Katie was born on June 7, 1963, in Chicago, IL. She was the second of four daughters born to Royce and Teresa Donohoe.
She was a long-time resident of Chicago, IL, and had a lake house in Cedar Lake, IN. Katie grew up in Riverdale, IL. She graduated from Thornton Township High School, Class of 1981. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and was a proud “Domer”. She attended the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, earning her MBA in 1991.
She began her career at Accenture, where she worked for 9+ years, managing projects and consulting with Arthur Anderson, the Federal Government, and Foundations, among others. She worked as a Director for CNA, the Revere Group as a Managing Consultant, Whitman-Hart/March 1st as a Director, Director of Business Systems for Telestaff Healthcare, ultimately ending her business career with JP Morgan Chase as a VP, Senior Project Manager over 17 years. She was extremely driven in her career goals.
Katie was a huge sports fan starting at a very young age. She played 16” softball, 12” softball, volleyball, basketball, flag football, beach volleyball, golf, and bowled. Following in her father’s footsteps, she was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. She was a partial season ticket holder and treated many friends and family to Cubs games over the years. She also organized annual Spring Training Trips to Arizona over the past 40 years.
Katie was preceded in death by her father Royce, mother Teresa, grandparents Col. Thomas and Alpha “Minnie” Metz, Francis and Helen Donohoe as well as her sister Debi Donohoe.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters Jenny Donohoe and Cindy Donohoe, her nieces Sameerah Ahmad and Sumaiyah Ahmad, former brother in law Hosam Ahmad, dear friends Linda Abbott, Alice Doughney, Holly Hemminger, Laura and Kevin Thompson, Mark and Lizzie Hopkins and a host of friends from the city, Old St Pat’s, the south suburbs and Notre Dame who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Name Church 11000 W. 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303, on March 28, 2026. Greet the family at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 AM. Cubs or Notre Dame attire is welcome! Burial will be at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Beloved Retreat Program of Old St. Pat’s, Chicago, IL or the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Holy Name Church, Cedar Lake, IN.
