"Dear Kathleen, Richard Jr., Ana, and Family, I was deeply saddened to learn of Richard J. Arteaga's passing on February 26, 2026. At 76, he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet service that touched so many lives. Richard's 48 years of devoted marriage to Kathleen stand as a beautiful testament to enduring partnership and commitment. As a loving father to Richard Jr., the late Adam, and Ana (and proud grandfather to Ciarra and Elissa), he built a family rooted in care and pride. His role as a son, brother, and uncle further extended that warmth to a wide circle of loved ones. I will always remember Richard for his service as a U.S. Marine Corps veteran—his sense of duty and honor carried through in everything he did. His years at South Chicago/Advocate Trinity Hospital and with the Apollo Detective Agency reflected his work ethic and willingness to contribute to his community. Though words can never fully ease the pain of losing someone so dear, please know that Richard's memory will live on through the lives he shaped and the love he gave so freely. May you find comfort in the stories shared, the support of family and friends, and the knowledge that he is at peace. With deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. We will be there to pay our respects. Sincerely, Wendy and Anthony Silos "
