Andrew "Andy" Muszynski age 96 late of Valparaiso, IN, born and raised in South Chicago, IL, passed away on February 15, 2026. Beloved husband of (late) Genevieve Muszynski of 57 years, and beloved son of Andrew and Domicella "Daisy" Muszynski. Loving father of late Jerome "Jerry" Kozlowski (late Sue Kozlowski), Susanna "Susie" Minton (Nick Minton), and Craig Kozlowski (Laura Kozlowski), cherished grandfather "Papa" of Derek, Jason, Jonathan (Diane), Julie (Kenny), Nickie (Sarah), Brian (Carey), Alyssa (Ryan), and Taylor (D'Antoni). Adored great grandfather "Papa" to Skylar, Addison, late Ivy, Alexis, Amaya, Brandon, Logan, Ashley, Lilly, Blake, late Easton, Mia, Miles, Makayla Genevieve, Kehlani, and Ace. Treasured great great grandfather to Kenzo. Dearest brother of late Adele, late Loretta, and late Don. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.


Andy was an army veteran who then went on to protect and serve the citizens of Chicago, IL, as a policeman and Sergeant for over 30 years. As a devoted husband and best friend to Jenny, they spent every loving minute of every day together navigating life's beautiful journey. They were known for the "slow step" dancing to "For the Good Times" and were die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fans. Andy enjoyed time with his brother Don and friends hunting and fishing. He was a Chicago Sun Times champion in bowling, recording several 300-point games. Andy was also known to fix anything. He enjoyed dinners with Jenny which included beer and martinis, family events, holidays, and gatherings. He will be best remembered for being the quiet patriarch of the family. A devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso, IN.


Memorial Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 W. 97th Lane, St. John, IN, 46373. Following the visitation, a 2:30 p.m. veterans ceremony will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road in Elwood, IL, 60421.
