Luis Montejano Sr., 89, late of South Chicago, formerly of La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico, passed away on February 12, 2026.
Luis was the beloved husband of 62 years to Socorro Montejano (Martinez). Together they raised four children: Luis (Maria) Montejano Jr., Claudia Montejano, Lorena Lira, and Liliana Lopez.
Known affectionately as “Papa Luis,” he was a cherished grandfather to Lillian (Jay) Lira, Nicholas Lira, Zachary (Mitzy) Konwerski, Aidan Montejano, Caitlyn Montejano, Anais Konwerski, and Laila Lopez. He was also a proud great‑grandfather to Isabelle Aguirre and Lorenzo Lira.
He loved going to the movies and indulging in his favorite brandy, Presidente.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Juana Montejano and brother, Miguel Montejano.
