Fred Bermejo “Freddy Burger”, age 70. Late of South Chicago. Passed away on February 4, 2026. Beloved husband of Cindy Bermejo for 48 years. Loving father of Manuel Bermejo, Melissa (Eddie) Rokosik, and Michael (Mae) Bermejo. Cherished grandfather of Gia, Rocco, Atticus, and Veda. Devoted son of Rose and the late Manuel Bermejo. Dearest brother of Frank Bermejo and Rose Martinez. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fred was an avid fisherman, Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed music, and most importantly watching his grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.

"Dear Fred's family, I just heard about Fred's passing and would have gone to the funeral as I had such admiration for him. We worked together many years at a company that I wished appreciated him as much as his co-workers did. He was knowledgeable both in technology and the business, analytical and always the gentlemen. His love for life brought joy to the office whether talking about his fishing trips, his wife and children but once he became a grandfather, nothing was better than the stories about those babies that stole his heart. May the angels welcome him to paradise. My deepest condolences on the loss of this wonderful man. "
