Margarita Cervantes, age 81. Late of Portage, IN., formerly of South Chicago. Passed away on January 21, 2026. Beloved wife the late Ramon Cervantes. Loving mother of Fidencio (Martha) Cervantes, Ramon Jr. (Susan) Cervantes, Miguel (Teresa) Cervantes, and Juan Cervantes. Cherished grandmother of Erika (Adrean) Flores, Christian (Tatyana) Cervantes, Marc Cervantes, Juanita Cervantes, Monica, Cervantes, Melissa Cervantes, Andrea (Alex) Alardin, and Jonathan Cervantes. Adored great-grandmother of Noah, Rosalie, Alondra, Nina, Miggy, Matthew, Autumn, and Ivy Rae. Dearest sister of Nemesio (late Luz )Morales, Teresa (late Nicholas) Garcia, Arminda (Martin), and Guadalupe (late Jim) Przeborowski. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Margarita enjoyed spending time and having cookouts with her children, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, playing loteria with family and friends, and sitting in her yard soaking up the sun.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services, Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. closing prayers from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, Il. to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery
