Passed away on December 28, 2025

Kenneth J. “Ken” Shivers, age 74.  Late of Chicago Heights, Illinois.  Passed away suddenly on December 28, 2025.  Born August 23, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois.  Loving brother of Gloria (Chuck) Wilhelm, Cindy (Tim) McAvoy, and Dennis (Sandy) Shivers.  Ken is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen Shivers (nee Such) and nephew Matthew Wilhelm.  Ken was a graduate of James Giles Elementary School, Ridgewood High School, Triton College, and a veteran of the US Army.  He was a retired automotive research technician for BP Amoco.  Ken was a generous and fun brother and uncle.  He enjoyed snowmobiling, working on cars, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. 

Visitation Friday, January 9, 2026 from 2:00 pm until time of Closing Prayers at 5:00 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97^th LN. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97^th  LN.) St. John.  Committal Prayers Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Adalbert Cemetery 6800 N.
