Francisco Casanova “Pancho”, age 90. Late of the East Side. Passed away on December 29, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Maria Refugio Casanova (nee Minjarez). Loving father of Raudel (Rosemary) Casanova, late Rigoberto Casanova, late Olga (Arnulfo) Leyva, Rosalba (late Tomas) Lopez, Elvina (Hector) Acosta, Elia Patricia (late Jose Miguel) Casanova- Gomez, Francisco Jr. (Ana) Casanova, Ranjel (Veronica) Casanova, and Lorena (Juan Carlos) Gonzalez. Cherished grandpa and great grandpa to many. Dearest brother and brother -in- law. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Retired employee from the City of Chicago- Forestry Department. Before working for the City of Chicago ,Francisco worked at Wisconsin Steel Mill. He loved to watch the rodeo and enjoyed riding horses when he was younger.

Visitation Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Saturday, January 3, 2026, 9:00 a.m. closing prayers from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. 60617 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
