Mary R. Spencer (nee Standley), age 97.  Late of Cedar Lake, Indiana. Passed away December 15, 2025.  Beloved wife of the late Paul S. Spencer.  Loving mother of late Barry Spencer, Kathleen (Dan) McKune, Susan (Lonnie) McGuffey, and Bob (Patty) Durkin.  Cherished grandmother of Kelly (Al) Santos, Jason (Brandie) McKune, Aaron (Sarah) McGuffey.  Dearest great grandmother of 7 and great great grandmother of 2.  Sister in law Patricia Standley.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by parents Frank and Ruby Standley and siblings: Lloyd, Dennis, and Virgil Standley.  Longtime cherished member of Bethel Church. Memorial Visitation Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon at Bethel Church 13620 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake, Indiana 46303 with a luncheon to follow.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Church Missions Fund.  Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Cedar Lake.  For more information 219-374-9300.

"Thinking of your family during this difficult time. I was saddened to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful woman, and I always enjoyed the times I spent with her tinkering in her landscape. Having known her over the years, I will always remember her kindness and strength she carried.
