On October 29, 2025, Richard Sobieraj passed away peacefully, like he lived, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Richard leaves behind a legacy of hard work and superior craftsmanship from his business Creative Concrete Coatings, wherein he was often referred to as the "Rembrandt" of concrete coatings.
He will be dearly missed by his daughter Seavon, son Steven, father Richard, sisters, Susie, Cindy, Tracy, Delores, and Carrie. Grandchildren Marcus, Giana, Kyleigh, Timothy, Madison, Summer, and Rosie. And longtime significant other Sonja Lopez. And among countless lifelong friends that he proudly referred to as his brothers.
The world benefited from Richard’s service as a United States Marine, his hilarious stories told, epic bass guitar licks, and his unrelenting generosity to family, friends, and animals.
From the Southside of Chicago to Pacific St., Oceanside, Richard’s “Richie Rich” memory lives on by everyone that he shared a laugh or beer (or two) with for generations.
Gone but NEVER forgotten.
