Nancy M. Culver

Passed away on October 27, 2025

Nancy Marie Culver, nee Stoll, age 83, of Lowell, Indiana, formally of Lockport, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday October 27, 2025 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, IN.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Edward F. Culver, her parents William and Marie (Horner) Stoll and her beloved brother Wayne Wm. Stoll.

Nancy grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana and graduated from Lowell High School in 1960. She met and married Edward Culver and they made a life in Illinois, first in Burr Ridge and then in Lockport. They enjoyed being members of the Ford Model T Club of IL, taking trips to Las Vegas, attending Oak Ridge Boys concerts and never missing the family Sunday dinners at her mother Marie’s in Cedar Lake. They were members of St Francis of Assisi Church in Orland Park, IL.

Nancy worked outside the home for over 30 years as a medical secretary. In her retirement, she volunteered with Market Day in their Lago Vista Community. She loved music, particularly the Lawrence Welk Show. Nancy really loved being an aunt and great-aunt and was always present at every family get-together or milestone celebration. She had a generous heart.

Nancy is survived by her sister-in-law Judith Stoll, niece Gretchen (Scott) Gerstenkorn, nephew Wayne Stoll, Jr, and nephew William (Yoli) Culver, as well as great nephews and nieces Will, Hannah and Emily Gerstenkorn, Kailyn Stoll, and Daniela and Alec Culver.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cedar Creek Health Campus in Lowell and VNA Hospice for taking good care of Nancy. They would also like to thank family friend Mrs. Charlene Beck for her weekly visits which meant so much to Nancy.

In Nancy’s memory, donations would be greatly appreciated to VNA Hospice of Northwest Indiana, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
