Passed away on October 17, 2025

Patricia “Patty” Iwan, age 77.  Late of Milton, Wisconsin formerly of Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood.  Passed away October 17, 2025.  Loving mother of Colleen (Raymond) Ploszaj, Tracy (Michael) Swanson, Michael Hurry, Brian Hurry, and Samantha Orloff.  Cherished grandmother of Alec “A.J.” Ploszaj, Kathryn (Michael) Beck, Thomas “Tommy” Swanson, Kenden Swanson, Brandon Hurry, Chase Dinzik, and Jacob Dinzik. Dearest sister of Joseph (Lori) Iwan, Mitch (Linda) Iwan, and Geralyn “Geri” Barone.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Dear godmother of Christopher Iwan and Kimberly Mucharski (nee Szarek). Patty is preceded in death by her parents Milton J. “Matt” Iwan and Josephine Sanek (nee Drewno) and siblings Francis, Mary, and John Iwan. 

Patty was a retired X-Ray/CT technician at various hospitals in Chicago throughout her career.  Her greatest joys in life were watching her 7 grandchildren grow up and cheering on the Mt. Carmel Caravan Baseball team!  Patty was also a phenomenal cook – especially polish food, her kolochky was the best! She will be deeply missed by many

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in honor of Patty on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Barraco’s Italian Restaurant located at 3701 W. 95^th St. Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Patty’s name.  For more information 773-731-2749
