Scott L. Radtke, age 75. Late of Monee, IL. and Marco Island, FL. Passed away October 16. 2025. Beloved husband of Agnes “Aggie” (nee McGuire) for 57 years. Loving father of Scott (Julie) Radtke, Jennifer (Michael) Grahovac, and Marc (Mary) Radtke. Devoted grandfather of Miranda, Charley, Brittany, Kayla (Zach), Marc (Aurora), Michael, Nathaniel, and Gabriella. Cherished great grandfather of Sophia. Dearest brother of Kathy Burgess, late Lorree Radtke, and the late Chuck Radtke.
For most of his life, Scott was a man who kept things running—engines, businesses, and people alike. As a young man, he began his career with Standard Oil, managing first the Hinsdale Oasis and then the Lincoln Oasis. After a few years, he purchased his first gas station in Homewood and named it Scott’s Standard. From that leap of faith, he and his wife, Aggie, built and operated a string of gas stations across the Chicagoland’s South Suburbs—each one spotless, efficient, and run with the precision of a man who cared about the details.
After nearly thirty years of owning and operating gas stations, he and Aggie sold it all and retired in 2000. But “retired” never quite fit him.
Three years later, in 2003, Olympia Fields Country Club was preparing for the U.S. Open and looking for bartenders. He took the job, and before long, management noticed the same thing everyone else always had—his eye for order, his ability to lead, and the way he made every operation better. They asked him to take over as locker room manager, a position that suited him perfectly. Olympia Fields is reported to have the largest men’s locker room in the country, and under his care it became an institution—meticulous, welcoming, and humming with quiet excellence. Members and guests alike, from everyday regulars to tournament professionals, came to rely on his precision and warmth. He held that role for over a decade before retiring in 2015.
Retirement the second time around finally gave him space to do what he and Aggie loved most—travel.
Over the next decade, they became true world travelers, visiting dozens of countries and taking countless cruises to fascinating destinations around the globe. When they weren’t abroad, they spent their days in Marco Island, Florida, where they’ve had a residence for nearly fifty years. There, too, he found purpose. For many years he served as president of the condo board, keeping everything running like a fine-tuned machine—organized, dependable, and fair.
Through all of it—work, travel, service, and home—he found joy in being married to Aggie for almost sixty years, in their shared adventures, and in the family that grew from the life they built together. He was steady, trustworthy, and true—qualities that never retired.
