Joseph George Oganovich, 89, of Conover, Wisconsin and formerly of South Holland, Illinois was called home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army for six years including two years in Germany. He grew up an avid hockey fan and enjoyed playing bingo. Since retiring to the Northwoods, he enjoyed watching the change of the seasons and loved seeing all the wildlife visit his property. He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah (Brian) Leikel, Karen (John) O’Dea, and Marybeth (Edward) Davis. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Justin Oganovich, Jordan Leikel, Becky (Adam) Stilley, Katie O’Dea, Amy (Noel) Cogavin and Megan O’Dea, as well as his 4 great-grandchildren. Joseph is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of over 66 years Rochelle Oganovich as well as his parents George and Blanche Oganovich. Visitation will be held at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home (507 S. State St. Manhattan, Illinois 60442) on Friday September 26, 2025 from 9:00 a.m until time of closing prayers at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois at 12:30pm.
