Suzanne M Sink (nee Boak)

Passed away on September 8, 2025

Suzanne M. Sink nee Boak (87) from Cedar Lake, IN was welcomed into heaven by The Lord, Our Father, on September 8, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents, Lois (Thomas) and Gordon Boak and her granddaughter, Jennifer Sink.

She was loved and cared for by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth (Ken) P. Sink. Together, they raised 6 children: Kathy Sink (Dean Tsilis), Ken (Kip) P. Sink, Jr. (Sherry), Paul Sink (Tammy), Mary Peloza (Sean), Betty Calomino (Jim), and Christie Raimbault (Keith). Sue found joy in her 18 grandchildren Sara Montalbano (Luke), Marcus Sink (Juli), EJ Sink (Barbara), Traci Tsilis (Jim), Marguerite Monaghan, Jennifer Sink, K.C. Sink, Danielle Van Rite (Alex), Paul Sink (Stephie), Hannah Sink, Nick Peloza, Ellie Peloza, Nicole Sallay (Phil), Geena Lessentine (Austin), Ben Perez, Cecelia Perez (David), Benjamin Raimbault, Thomas Raimbault (Taylor) and 15 great-grandchildren Cal Montalbano, Vita Montalbano, Aiden Van Rite, Jayce Van Rite, Harrison Shafer, Tyler Ledone, Max Ledone (Hannah), Mia Ledone, Hadon Sink, Sophia Sink, Jacob Van Rite, Mason Van Rite, Wyatt Sink, Madelyn Sallay, and Oliver Sallay. She leaves behind her sister, Marsha Russell (Jim), with whom she shared a deep and cherished bond. Sue adored her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

Sue and Ken’s love story was one for the ages. After meeting and falling for each other when they were only 14 and 15 years old, Sue and Ken married at the ages of 20 and 21. Sue loved her children and grandchildren as well as the opportunity to hold any new baby as they came into her home.  Sue and Ken eventually started their own business, owning and operating three laundromats and a dry cleaner in the south suburbs of Chicago.  They were two peas in a pod, going everywhere and doing everything together.

Sue cherished family time and looked forward to trips “up the creek” at the family Wisconsin house and, recently, the lake house. Sue loved nature and was always the first to stop and smell the flowers or to point out different birds in the trees and bugs on leaves while on walks with her grandkids or while sipping on coffee in the kitchen with her children. She would often ask Ken to drive to the lake house just to see the swans and their babies.

Sue’s interests were many, painting, sewing, dog training, and reading to name a few. She always had a song in her heart. She was part of the Sweet Adelines choir as well as the Holy Name Church choir. Of all singing groups, her favorite was always during family celebrations.

Her family remembers her with the words of Patsy Cline: “I’ll be loving you, always.”

"Sue was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew. When I joined the Sweet Adeline’s she welcomed me and helped me anytime I had a question. I enjoyed meeting her and Ken for lunch now and then. She will be miss by family and anyone who was lucky to know her. I know she is in Heaven and is singing with the angels!"
