Passed away on August 30, 2025

Samuel Enriquez “Don Samuel/El Polaco” Age 79, long time resident of Hammond, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Maria Dolores Enriquez. Samuel was the son of the late Luis & Victoria Enriquez and Gavina Palacios.  He was the loving father of Norma (Jose) Maciel, Genoveva (Rito) Maciel, Jose Alejandro Enriquez, Samuel Jr. (Sabrina) Enriquez, Lucia (Nóe) Maciel  Loving Grandfather “Tito” to Victoria (Salvador) Gonzalez, Barbara (Ernesto) Martinez, Alex (Evelyn Gonzalez) Maciel, Matthew, Sebastian, Sylvestré, y Samuel Maciel.He was the Beloved Grandfather/Godfather of late Rito Jr. Maciel.  He was the Great Grandfather “Toto” to Miklo, Réy, Emma Dolores, Lola Rita. Samuel is also survived by his sisters Ester, Elvira, and Josefina.

He is proceeded in death by his brothers Jesus, Isabel, Ismael Enriquez and his beloved cousin Guadalupe Palacios. He is survived by his beloved cousins Ramon, Toya, Josefina, Terri, Trina and Bobby. Samuel was a beloved godfather to many godchildren,  Fond uncle of many nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends. All of whom he loved dearly. Samuel enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be remembered for his unique way of holding a great conversation. He Loved praying the rosary and listening to the scripture online.

He battled many illnesses including cancer but he never lost hope or his faith. He will forever live in our hearts. We will always love you Dad, Daddy, Papi, Papá de mi Vida, Pops, Tito, Toto. He will be remembered for this quote:“ échenle ganas” and “mi chula”

Visitation Sunday, September 7, 2025 2-7 pm.  Funeral Services Monday, September 8, 2025 with prayers at 9:00 am from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to St. Casimir Church.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  For more information 773-731-2749
