James H. Ireland, age 67, late of Hegewisch passed away on August 17, 2025. Beloved husband of Carmen (nee Correa) for 40 years. Loving father of Matthew Ireland. Dear son of the late Jack and late Barbara Ireland. Dearest brother of John Ireland. Fond brother-in-law of Juan (Sandy) Correa,David (Tammy) Correa and late Abel Correa. Also survived by cousins; Bobbie Tanner, Debbie Orlando and Marilyn “Bunny” Schane and numerous nieces and nephews. James leaves behind his “Canine Companion” Layla. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, employee of Northstar Aerospace Inc., Bedford Park, IL and a longtime active member of Hegewisch Baseball Organization. Visitation Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until time of “Celebration of Life” and Military Services at 4:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 South Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617. "Jimmy, I am sad to hear about your sudden passing. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were in Cub Scouts together and Mrs. Ireland was our den mom, many good memories as children growing up on Marquette Avenue a couple blocks away. Not to say that our moms and dads were also very close. And not to mention the fun we had in our 20s. God bless you friend, rest easy. Love you buddy. "So sorry for your loss Carmen and Matt. Needless to say, Emil and I were in shock when we heard Sonny passed away. After Emil's working with Jim for 45+ years, Ireland's name would always come up in a conversation about something that was going on at work. Jim always talked with Emil about retiring from Northstar, but never did, what a shame. Maybe he was waiting for Emil to retire with him! We will keep Jim in our prayers and hugs and love to you and Matt."
