John J. Brys, age 84. Late of Schererville, IN., formerly Cedar Lake, IN. Passed away on August 15, 2025. Loving father of Jackie Dean (Julie) Brys, John Roger (Lydia) Brys and the late Joseph Lee Brys. Cherished grandfather of John Charles Brys, Venetta Brys, Brian Anthony Brys, and Roger Aaron Brys. Adored great-grandfather of Hunter, Mark, and Jackson. Proceeded in death by his former wife Venetta Marie Brys (nee Atwood) and his close friend Bonnie Goodman. John retired from Local 21 Bricklayers. He was an avid fisherman and loved to read bible passage Isaiah 40:31 “Those who hope in the lord, will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like Eagles.” Per John’s wishes, services will be held privately for his family. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Chapel & Crematory- Cedar Lake, IN.
