With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Jacqueline Koronkowski, who departed this world at the age of 85, on April 25, 2025.
Jacqueline “Gramma Jak” Koronkowski (nee Kelleck), preceded in death by her husband, Jim Koronkowski, her parents, Violet and Harold Kelleck, and her sister, Rowena Myers. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Martello (Edward Gonzalez), grandson, Daniel Koblack, brother-in-law, Ed Myers, niece, Kristen Kollath, and her loving and devoted cat, “Kitty Boy” of 17 yrs.
Jackie was a strong-willed, determined woman and always willing to volunteer and help others. She held many jobs through the years at Polk Bros., South Shore Bank, secretary in Respiratory Therapy at South Chicago Community Hospital and at Horizon Health Care. She was a Home Health Caregiver of late.
Jackie was Baptized into the Christian Faith on October 6, 2016 at Faith Church in Dyer, Indiana, where she volunteered and made many friends.
Jackie was a huge fan of Kenny Rogers and especially Whitney Houston. Often times you could hear their songs blasting in her house. She was an avid wrestling fan, her favorite was Hulk Hogan. She would attend many of his matches, screaming, yelling, and clapping her hands so hard, they would become red and bruised. She loved watching old movies, especially the Hallmark Channel and the Chicago Bears.
Although are hearts are sad, her presence will always be felt, especially throughout the memories of the scent of her baking, especially her fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, mini kolachkes, mini cheesecakes, and banana breads.
