Emile Shaw (Skyles) age 86 of Chicago, Illinois passed away on July 23, 2025.

Beloved daughter of Elijah & Emily Skyles (both deceased), cherished sister to brothers Elijah “Sonny,” Samuel, John Skyles and sisters Lucille Crump, Gloria Edwards, Jacqueline Moore-Bond and Mary Gayden (all deceased)  & loving mother to her children: Marvin, Michael, Michellise, Malyn, Martin (deceased) & Emilio. She’s also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren & her lifelong best friend Mrs. Rhetta Williams.

Emile was known for her love of dance. She studied at The Sammy Dyer School of Theatre in the 50’s under the direction of Sammy Dyer himself. Ballet, jazz, interruptive & religious dance were the styles she loved the most. She danced throughout the Chicagoland while teaching younger dancers the art of dance later in her life.

In addition to being a professional dancer, she was also a secretary, executive administrative assistant & receptionist.

Emile’s love of life, dance, music and her influence of impeccable flair & style of clothing can be seen in her children & grandchildren.

Emile was a vibrant soul who touched many lives with her love, kindness, wisdom, strength and devout dedication to her children.

Emile will be deeply missed by everyone her soul has touched.
