Passed away on July 4, 2025


Norleen S. Andersen (née Shule), age 73, late of Cedar Lake, Indiana, formerly of Burnham and Chicago (East Side), Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Beloved mother of Bryan (Amy) Comparon, Nichole (Andrew) Claussen, and Brett Andersen. Cherished grandmother of Bryan Comparon II, Peyton Comparon, Elliot Comparon, Meghan Granter, Connor Granter, and Ian Vinson. Dearest sister of Kirk (Candy) Shule and Terry (Thomas) Panozzo. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Shule.

Norleen proudly served as a 911 dispatcher for several municipalities throughout South Cook County, dedicating many years of her life to her career.

Norleen was also a passionate and competitive poker player. She found great joy and camaraderie within her poker community, forming lifelong friendships at the table. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM until the time of closing prayers at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Chapel – Cedar Lake, 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way, Cedar Lake, Indiana 46303. For more information, please contact the funeral home at 219-374-9300.
