Judith Edna Wooten (nee Schofield), age 87. Passed away at her home in Cedar Lake, In., on June 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a beautifully lived life full of love, laughter, and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born January 24th 1938 in Hartford, Ct. Judy grew up in Naugatuck, Ct. She graduated from Naugatuck High School and went on to work for the State of Connecticut for 30 years before retiring.
Judy loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She’d pack them all into her Pontiac 6000 station wagon and go on all sorts of adventures to the mall, out for ice cream, county fairs, the movies, as well as many other fun activates. The stories and the memories will live on with them forever.
Judy bakes the best chocolate chips cookies ever, and she loved her shopping. She enjoyed many adventures with her son traveling in the big rig tractor trailer to destinations like Freeport Maine to LL Bean to Vermont during fall foliage leaf season.
Judy is preceded in death by her daughter Susan Wooten. She will be dearly missed by her son John Wooten, and daughter Lori Wooten. Cherished Nana of Jessica, Rachael, Carly, William “Waylon”, Sophia, Chelsea, Autumn, as well as multiple great grandchildren.
Judy was able to be cared for at home. It would not have been possible without the help of many including, Ray, Carrol, Janet, visiting doctors: Kristine Teodori, Ashley Popovich and staff, along with many other who helped along the way. May God Bless you all. Thank You!
Per Judy’s wishes services were held privately for her family. Arrangements entrusted to Elmwood Chapel and Crematory-Cedar Lake, IN.
