Roman Silva Sr., age 99. Late of Hegewisch, formerly of South Chicago. Passed away June 20, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Emilia Silva. Loving father of Martha (Late Jesse) Silva Vera, Carmella Silva, Mario Silva (Elena Hernandez), Irma (late Francisco) Saldana, late Roman Silva Jr., and late Joseph Silva. Cherished grandfather of Laurie (Jim) Regan, Louis (Jennifer) Silva, Francisco V. Saldana, Jess Saldana, Michael O. Saldana, Veronica Silva, Dina Silva, and Leticia Silva. Cherished great grandfather of Kendall Silva, Tatum Silva, Von Silva, Kyleigh Regan, McKenzie Regan, and Sean Regan. Roman was a retired employee of General Mills. He was also a former employee of US Steel and the Chicago Board of Education – Facilities Dept. Roman loved his family, had a strong work ethic and a deep value for education. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL. to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
