Desanka Lazovich, 85, passed away on June 9, 2025. She was the loving wife of (late) Miloje Lazovich for 57 years. Beloved mother of Miroljub (Nada) and (late) Miroslav; cherished grandmother of (late) Stevan (Larissa), Tomo (Kelly) and Angelina; great-grandmother to Gabriel and Ezekiel. Loving sister to Biserka from Beograd, Serbia. Preceded in death by her parents (late) Tomo and (late) Petra Jasovic along with three deceased brothers and 5 deceased sisters all who lived in Serbia. Loving daughter-in-law to (late) Stevan and (late) Petra Lazovich. Dear sister-in-law to (late) Milunka and (late) Danilo Malisic and the aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Desanka will be remembered as a kind, loving woman of quiet strength, warmth and deep devotion to her family and her Orthodox faith. She will also be remembered by many kumovi, cousins and dear friends. Desanka cherished herfamily especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her and she was so proud of them. She had such a generous spirit and her kindness, faith and gentle ways will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Desanka was the former owner of the former Golden Shell Restaurant on South East Side of Chicago. May her memory be eternal. 

Visitation Thursday, June 12th, 2025 from 4:00-8:00pm and Pomen Service at 7:00pm at Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago, IL (773) 731-2749. Funeral Services Friday, June 13, 2025 Directly at  New Gracanica Monastery. Desanka will lie in state in New Gracanica monastery from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Mile Subotic officiating. Interment New Gracanica Cemetery; 35240 West Grant Avenue, Third Lake IL 60046.
