Slobodan Kaurin, born March 30th, 1936 in Republika Srpska, husband to +Mileva Kaurin and father to +Djordjo, Mihailo & Dusan. Grandfather to Danijela, Maja, Kenneth & George. Great-grandfather to Sophia, Isabella & Luka. Long time resident of the South-East Side of Chicago where he lived with his son Mihailo, daughter-in-law Vesna, and granddaughters Danijela & Maja. Proud Serbian Orthodox man, celebrating his saint day Saint Nicholas on December 19th. Avid gardener, Wheel of Fortune viewer and crossword puzzle player. The cutest and sweetest old man on the East Side.

"My deepest sympathies are extended to the family. He has touched the hearts of my family during the time we have known him with his sense of humor and kind heart that was always giving. I admired the bond he formed with all of my children. The way he would greet my sons with “HEY COWBOY” and never failed to give them a little treat. My daughter especially loved running to his front porch to say hello, she even nicknamed him “branca”(grandpa). He didn’t know this, but we all looked forward to seeing him sitting on the front porch every Spring. I surely will miss my “HEY NEIGHBOR” greetings on my walks to and from work and the jokes he would make that never ceased to make me laugh. He was indeed the sweetest man on the East Side and one of the best neighbors one could hope for. "
