Passed away on May 21, 2025

Carol Joyce Kawiecki, age 88.  Late of St. John, Indiana formerly of South Holland, Illinois.  Passed away suddenly on May 21, 2025.  Beloved wife of the late David L. Kawiecki.  Loving mother of Paul (Christine) Kawiecki, Robert (Rick Nichols) Kawiecki, David J. Kawiecki, and Denise (Michelle Benjamin) Kawiecki.  Cherished grandmother of Joseph, Daniel, Claire, Peter (Gabriella “Ellie”), Paige, and Caroline.  Carol is also survived by her sisters in law: Violet Nugent and Lucille Sikorski as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Nugent and Maryan (Syl) Sikorski and siblings, Mahlon Nugent, Jaqueline Tollefsen, and Sylvester Sikorski.

Carol was a Chicago Public School teacher for 32 years. She enjoyed painting, the arts, travel, family, faith, and friends.

Visitation Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm, prayer service at 6pm with words of remembrance to follow, at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Services Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 9:30 am from the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th Ln.)
