Kathleen Twohig, "Kathy"

Passed away on May 13, 2025

Kathleen (nee Stofcik) Twohig, 80, late of Fort Wayne, IN., Loudon, TN. and Whiting, IN. passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, in Fort Wayne Indiana. She was born on November 16, 1944, in Whiting, Indiana to the late Peter and Mary Stofcik.  She was a resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale community. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1962.   Kathy worked at Vogels Restaurant and was a Manager at Johnel's Restaurant before retiring to Loudon Tennessee.

Kathy was a wizard in the kitchen, where the warmth of her hospitality and the aroma of her mouthwatering creations made it everyone’s favorite gathering spot. When not stirring a pot or perfecting a recipe, she could be found with her hands in the soil, lovingly tending to her vibrant landscaped beds. A true dog whisperer, Kathy bred, raised, and trained countless Labrador Retrievers, and in her retirement, she found great joy and purpose in training and hosting service dogs with Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

Affectionately known as “Coupon Kathy,” she had a legendary knack for thrift—no coupon went unclipped, no “must-goes” uneaten, and no guest unfed under her watch. With boundless energy, she worked tirelessly as a devoted mother, loving wife, and dedicated waitress and restaurant manager for over 20 years.

When she and Bill “retired” in Tennessee, Kathy quickly found a home in a familiar place, managing the kitchen at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City for over 20 years. Spirited, diligent, caring, funny, strong, and brave, Kathy faced every moment of life—and her final days—with grace and grit. Her legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in all who knew her.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Twohig; loving mother of, Kim (Jerry) Berghoff, and Jeff (Christina) Twohig; cherished grandma of, Alex (Madi) Berghoff, Ryan Berghoff, Aaron Berghoff, and Finn Twohig; great-grandson, Wyatt Berghoff;  caring sister of , Mary Ann (late Tony) Dominiak, Judy (late Dan) Hosken, and Ray Stofcik; and sister-in-law, Lori (late Peter) Stofcik, Connie and Dave Dybel, Aimee (late Timothy) Twohig; adoring aunt to Mark (late Roberta) Dominiak, Laurie (Joe) Minor, Kathleen (Justin) Dominiak-Treasure, Daniel (Laura) Hosken, Eric (Kelly) Hosken, and Carrie Melton and many great nieces and nephews.
