Eileen T. Driscoll

Passed away on March 28, 2025

Eileen T. Driscoll (nee Lally), age 90.  Late of Cedar Lake IN, formerly of Chicago and Burbank IL as well as Dunedin FL  Passed away March 28, 2025.  Beloved wife of Gordon Driscoll for over 70 years.  Loving mother of Gordon T. (Denise) Driscoll, Margaret (Oliver) Kirk, Donald (Sharon) Driscoll, Edward (Janette) Driscoll, and Thomas (Kathryn) Driscoll.  Cherished by her dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren across the country.  Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by parents Thomas and Mary Lally and brothers Thomas and Jack Lally. 

As the beloved matriarch of the Driscoll/Lally clan, she loved to celebrate her Irish heritage with annual family gatherings where her Irish soda bread and mostaccioli were always present.  For 71 years, Gordon and Eileen were always at the center of family get-togethers where Eileen was famous for her memorable stories, gossip and sense of humor.  They raised their five children to be loving parents like them who eventually produced 45 grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they adored.  During those years not a birthday would pass without a loving remembrance from Nonnie.  Although Eileen will be greatly missed, her family looks forward to honoring her express wish that they continue family gatherings as the years unfold and enjoy a drink together in her memory. 

Visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2:00 pm until a 5:00 pm service at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, located at 9931 Lincoln Plaza Way, Cedar Lake IN (1/2 block south of 133rd across from the library at Lincoln Plaza Way).  Committal prayers will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 7, 2025 in the Chapel at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 6001 W. 111th St. Alsip, IL.  For more information, call the Elmwood Funeral Chapel at 219-374-9300.
