Passed away on March 26, 2025


Barbara Fayta (nee Dudzik), age 85.  Late resident of Dyer, Indiana formerly of Dolton, Illinois.  Beloved wife of the late Arthur of 55 years.  Loving mother of Mark (Judy) Fayta, Michael Fayta, Lori (Larry) Seida, Lynda (Terry) Tanis.  Cherished grandmother of Chelsea (Ryan), Alex (Melanie), Alexandrea, A.J., Julian, Ayden, and Adam (Lacey). Dearest great grandmother of Ben, Zoey, Van, and Greyson.  Dear sister of the late Edward (late Pam) Dudzik and Kenneth (Ruth) Dudzik and sister in law of late William (Marion) Fayta and late Stephen Fayta.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.  Barb was a talented artist and crafter who enjoyed volunteering at her children’s school.  She had a long career in medical billing. She loved hosting the holidays and spending time with her family, and will be remembered most for her kind and caring nature. 

Visitation Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th Ln.) St. John.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  For more information 219-365-3474.

"Barbara was an officer of District 2 of the First Catholic Slovak Union for many years. In addition, she chaired the Easter Coloring contest. Her creativity was enjoyed by the children of the district. Barbara was a dedicated member of the district and her work will be long remembered. Our love and prayers to all of the Fayta Family.
