Passed away on March 24, 2025

Paulette M. Wieser Michalak, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. She was born in Hammond, In., but became a lifelong resident of Highland prior to her recent illness. She was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute. After graduation, she worked at Sears Co. as a bookkeeper and then at Calumet National Bank. She was the beloved mother of Jennifer and Patrick. Sadly, Jennifer passed away at age 9. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Michalak; her parents, Edward and Mary Pociask, and her siblings, Bill, Ed and Dolores Thomas. She is survived by her devoted son, Patrick (Kelly), who provided for her care over the past several years, as well as her two grandsons, Carter and Davis. She leaves behind her sister, Mary Ann Heath, and many nieces and nephews.

 Visitation Monday, March 31, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. (½ block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. At 97th Ln.) St. John.  Private family interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.  For more information 219-365-3474
