Richard T. Leski

Passed away on February 18, 2025

Richard T. Leski, age 81, late of the East Side. Passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Marge” (Nee Wisniewski) Leski. Loving father of Darlene (David) Burnham, Cheryl Alsharif and Susanne (Steven) Cembala. Devoted grandfather of Davis (Kate), Delaney (Brandon), Ranny (Marcy), Danny (Yesenia) , Samer, Jenna, Chloe and Sophia. Cherished great-grandfather of 6. Preceded in death by his brother & sisters Donny Laski, Paulette Grady, Kathy Leski, and Sandra Leski. And best friend of Bob Gannuscio. Special thanks to Debbie and his caretakers Elsa, Karina, and Bob. They were all like family to us. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army, and a retired employee of Ford Motor Company. Richard enjoyed fishing any chance he could get, and loved the game of pool, was even on a few teams and had many Saturday night games with friends & family at home. He was an avid Nascar racing fan, and if there was a race on TV, he was watching it. He was a “Mr. Fix-It” who loved to tinker whether it was in the garage working on cars or big or small projects in or around the house. And he loved to cheer on his Bears and enjoyed watching the Cubs. All the things he loved he taught by passing on and sharing with his children and grandchildren. He was loved and will be deeply missed. Visitation Monday, February 24, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11200 S. "Losing a loved one is one of the hardest phases of our lives we can go through . . . . . .and when they’re gone it’s like they’re taking a part of us with them. During these hard times, I can only find some comfort and strength by praying. I believe that reaching out to our God for His guidance while grieving helps to ease our pain & the pain of our loved ones. “Father God, we lift up in prayer to You today my family, who is mourning the loss of their immediate loved one, Richard. Lord, bring them comfort and peace in this moment of life. Walk with them through this journey of their life, & may they feel Your presence and know they’re not alone.” “Father God, may any pain be soothed as they find strength in the warmth of Your love and presence. Lord, watch over them and guide their path so they don’t lose hope as they grieve.” In Jesus name. Amen! "

"Rich, You are loved and will be so missed. You always made us feel like family especially after living in your building for 33 years. Loved listening to your stories of growing up on the Southside, playing ball with your friends, being in the Army in Germany, and those Cubs. I am sure you have been reunited with your family and friends and especially with your true love, Margie. Thank you for everything. Continue to rest in peace...till we meet again. Kevin and Debbie"
