David A. “Dave” Kucharzak, age 73.  Late of Schererville, Indiana formerly of Calumet City and Chicago, Illinois.  Passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025.  Beloved husband of Dianne (nee Zehme) for 52 years.  Loving father of Jenn (Steve) Ades and Mike (Ali) Kucharzak.  Cherished papa of Maddie, Arden, Lucas, Landry, Tenley, and Marissa.  Dearest brother of Denise (Joe) Kochan and the late Susann Kucharzak and brother in law of Edward (late Vicki) Zehme and Karen (Len Funk) Kranz.  Dear uncle of Samantha, Alexis, Ed, Steve, Zack, Sam, and Tommy.  Dave retired from Central Steel and Wire as a manager of stock records and was a former employee of Sears – River Oaks. 

Dave worked for Central Steel & Wire for 40 years. He also loved coaching St. Victor football and Calumet City Little League & Babe Ruth; so much so that he continued coaching football after his son was done playing. He loved attending Purdue football games and tailgating. His passion was playing golf whenever he could. His family was his pride and joy and never missed an opportunity to see a dance performance or sporting events. He also loved going to Disney world or Disney cruises where he could be a kid again. He was a loving husband to Dianne of 52 years. He loved getting to travel with her. 

Visitation Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 W. 97th Ln. (1/2 block west of US 41/Wicker Ave. at 97th LN.) St. John.  Visitation and Funeral Services Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 9:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate, Dyer, IN.  For more information 219-365-3474.
