Passed away on January 25, 2025

Mary Alice Topping (January 17, 1939 - January 25, 2025) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Harts, West Virginia. She later moved to Ohio, Chicago and eventually settled in Whiting, Indiana. Most of her life she worked as a pipe fitter at Naylor Pipe. Preceded in death by her mother, Lilly Mae Evans. Father, Rass Farley. Sisters; Estelle, Lucille, Lola, and Mavis. Brothers; Waitman, Otto, Elmer, Charley and Winford. Sons; Gary and Johnny and Grandson; Gary. 

Survived by her sister, Kathleen. Daughter, Darla. Son (in law) Jeff and daughter-in-law Nada. Grandchildren; Nicole, Rachel, Natalie, Melanie, Mikey, and great grandchildren; Morgan, Maya, Miles, Isaiah and Gary jr. Also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

Mary loved everyone she met. Her kindness and love touched everyone in so many different ways. She was a strong woman who overcame every obstacle that came her way. She was a true fighter. Her smile would light up any room she was in, and her love was the kind that would make you feel warm inside. Mary loved going to church, cooking for her loved ones, telling stories, and making you laugh. She also loved spending time with her family, that was everything to her. She will be tremendously missed and never forgotten. Visitation Monday, February 3, 2025  from 3-8 p.m. Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services Tuesday, February 4, 2025 10:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S.
