Gregory W. Saettone

Passed away on January 8, 2025

Gregory W. Saettone, age 58. Late of South Deering. Passed away on January 8, 2025. Beloved husband of Christina M. Saettone for 30 years. Loving father of Alyssa A. Saettone, Johnny C. Gonzales, Julian R. Gonzales, and Samantha C. Saettone. Cherished Grandpa “Papa” of Alex, Aubrey, Angelleah, Maya, Samaira, Johnathan, and Emilia. Dearest brother of Deborah (Kevin) Saettone-Krawczyk, Valerie (Patrick) Dennis, Ric (Rhonda) Saettone, and Shirley Garcia-Smith. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and godfather to many. Preceded in death by his parents Shirley Saettone-Scully and Harold Scully.

Gregory was nothing less than an amazing man. He had the most passionate stories growing up in South Deering and left a vibrant impression on everyone he met. One particular instance was in the summer of 1994, when Greg met the love of his life Tina, and went on to marry and share 30 loving years together.

Breaking the mold when he was born, Greg worked as a bricklayer for the City of Chicago, and a hardworking member of Local 21. He was a wonderful father and a dedicated grandfather, whose affection and love towards his family was unwavering. Greg was one of kind, and he will continue to shine his hat-brimmed eyes and boundless smile upon years to come.

Like a big brother to me, wasn’t a second that went by that you didn’t have me in stitches w laughter. You knew how to make people feel special with just that smile.
