Carmela Fiore (Nee Pucci), age 75, late of East Side. Passed away on December 7, 2024. Beloved wife of Gino for 55 years. Loving mother of Rita (Rich) Dietz, Vince (Gina) Fiore, and Gino Fiore. Devoted grandmother of Jonathan (Mikayla), Christopher, Tommy and Alex. Cherished great grandmother of Nathaniel. Dearest sister of Nancy (Giovanni) Grisolia, Frank (late Anna) Pucci, Salvino Pucci and Mike (Lynn) Pucci. Fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Carm was a pure and genuine soul with a heart that touched everyone that she met. Carm immigrated to Chicago as a young child with her family. While growing up on the East Side she loved singing and sharing fun memories and times with her friends and family. Carm was very proud of both her roots in Italy and her adoptive home, the East Side. She would refer to both as her home in adoration. Carm worked at Nord’s Bakery before waitressing at Salvino’s Pizzeria. She, then, became the owner of Pucci’s Restaurant and Pizzeria, named Pucci’s to honor her parents, with her husband, brother, and late sister-in-law. Carm loved Pucci’s and loved sharing her original home’s cuisine with everyone who came through the door. In turn, everyone who met her loved her back and would come back to Pucci’s to see Carm. In addition to sharing her love for her community with Pucci’s, Carm was also involved with the East Side Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club where she proudly promoted and advocated for her community. Carm’s love and heart was most felt by her family. She loved her husband, three children, 4 grandchildren, and great-grandchild with all her heart. She saw her son- and daughter-in-law as her own children. She enjoyed having the whole family together, bringing together several generations and many families to celebrate holidays and more. She shared her many passions with her family, specifically for music and art as she would often sing and whistle to the tunes of her favorite songs and cherish her Murano glass. Carm loved to bring the tastes of Italy to her family instilling a passion and love for cooking and food that will be passed on for generations. She always shared what was on her mind but was also happy and caring to listen to everything you had to say. Throughout her life, Carm was caring, courageous, compassionate, generous, honest, loving, and proud. Because of this she loved many but was loved by many more.
