Sandra Maietta (nee Hutchings), age 82, late of Beecher, IL passed away November 26, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Maietta, Sr. Loving mother of Ronald (Tracy) Maietta Jr., Suzanne Herbst, Laura Foote, Timmy (Jennifer) Mahaffey, late Susan Allison and late Ricky Mahaffey. Devoted grandmother of 17. Cherished great grandmother of 16. Dearest sister of Richard (Faye) Hutchings, Charmaine (Frank) Daniels, late David Hutchings and late Sally (Richard) Chmielewski. Fond aunt of Brian Daniels, Richard Chmielewski Jr., Karrie Bieker and many other nieces and nephews. Former employee of University of Chicago Hospital and Trinity Hospital. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p.m. at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel, 11300 W. 97th Lane, St. John, IN. "I met Sandy while working at Trinity Hospital in Chicago. We had many delightful conversations in our women's locker room. I loved the way she lit up when she told me a story about going to see Tom Jones. I am not surprised that she caught his attention with her allure and radiance when he pulled her up on stage to join him. Through my mind I envisioned the young beautiful woman she was at the time and the joy she must have felt in that one enchanting moment! Her kind spirit will always be remembered by those who knew her. May she rest in peace."

"The Mahaffey Family, Donald and I want to send our condolences to all of you on the passing of your mother and grandmother. We are so glad that we had the pleasure of knowing her for quite a few years.. I really enjoyed talking with her at all the family functions. She will be missed dearly.
